Tanya Donovan is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked at Mylne Street Mental Health since 2016.
In 2021, Tanya established PsychCentral as an independent practice to specialise in applied neuropsychological assessment and intervention – QEEG measures of brain activity to inform EEG-guided behavioural therapies (CBT, Mindfulness + Neurofeedback).
Tanya had previously practiced as a psychologist with Queensland Corrective Services for seven years. Tanya applies psychological knowledge, theory and skills to maximise outcomes from individual psychotherapy, program development and delivery, psychological assessment and report writing and the facilitation of staff training.
Tanya has been involved in promoting resilience within the community through the delivery of both individual and group psychological interventions. She has developed psychological knowledge and skills to assist both children and adults who have experienced trauma. Tanya is trained in a range of therapeutic techniques including, Acceptance and Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and EMDR. These skills enable Tanya to assess, diagnose and treat both children and adults presenting with a variety of mental health concerns (i.e. Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Substance abuse, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Personality Disorders).
Tanya has experience completing cognitive, personality and vocational assessments and reports for individuals experiencing memory, learning, attention, problem solving and behavioural difficulties. Tanya applies her knowledge of both the development and neurobiology of the brain when forming evidence based treatment programs, to assist clients in enhancing their cognitive, behavioural and emotional functioning.
Qualifications: BSc (Psychology); Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology; Master of Psychology (Clinical); Graduate Certificate in Forensic Behavioural Sciences, Certified in Neurofeedback (BCIA-A).
